Waihoehoe is an 18.5-hectare greenfield residential development north of Waihoehoe Road and east of the North Island Main Trunk Railway. The site was rezoned from Future Urban Zone to Terraced Housing and Apartment Buildings Zone, and developed into a new residential community.
As part of the development’s consent requirements, planting was required across the site to support wetland protection, riparian restoration, stormwater management, and streetscape outcomes.
Kauri Park Projects was engaged to deliver the planting and establishment services required to support the new greenfield subdivision. An end-to-end approach was taken across the project to support efficient delivery, strong plant establishment, and timely completion.
This resulted in 35,000 plants being successfully established and achieving Council sign-off within 12 months, supporting the success of the overall development and long-term community wellbeing.
